Juiced Sports Blog has ranked the 100 most valuable sports blogs based on…
links, PR, traffic rank, and other factors. The general valuation for a website on sale is 10-20 times monthly earnings. That can vary based on domain name, branding exposure, etc, but the valuations should be somewhat accurate.
Two local domains made the cut: Wes Cox’s indispensable Mavs Moneyball, which you may have read about, came in at No. 64, with a value of $116,812. And way up the list, at No. 3, is Mark Cuban’s Blog Maverick, valued at $2,426,316. (No. 1, by the way, is Deadspin, worth a whopping $16 million and change.) Not ranked is my non-FB basketball blog I See You Big German, but in my defense, it’s imaginary.
UPDATE: I missed Blogging the Boys, which was between the other two: No. 39, valued at $142,572. AND: The great Lone Star Ball is on there, too, as Freeze pointed out in the comments. So, just assume there are somewhere between two and 15 more on the list, and I’ll stop updating.
