Leading Off

1. Election weekend recap: DISD’s $1.35 billion bond issue was approved, as were significant (but smaller) bonds in Highland Park, Lewisville, and Plano; Tim O’Hare won the Farmers Branch mayor’s race in a whitewashlandslide…I meant landslide; Becky Miller lied her way out of a job in Carrollton; a college student beat a closed captioning editor for a seat at Bedford’s horseshoe; and thanks to spoilsport Kip Bledsoe, I won’t be drinking in Frisco anytime soon.

2. An experimental medical treatment looks like it has saved Andre Lampkin’s arms and legs. I’ll be honest: I didn’t understand much of that story.

3. A six-week pilot program at Bryan Adams High School is using GPS tracking devices to cut down on truancy. Two notes: 1) I hope Wick doesn’t get any ideas and 2) what up, Gretel Kovach?

As a BA alum, all they need to do is go across the street behind the school to round up the kids smoking pot and get a new parking lot attendant. Our attendant was easily bribed with Jake’s. Just a mention of onion rings and the gate flew up.

You know what I hate? I hate people who lack any skills at all so they write worthless rants in order to fill space.

Space doesn’t need to be filled with nonsense. The only thing that needs to be lead off is you into an asylum for pretentious ******* who have failed at every endeavor they have tried.

I hope no one digs through this garbage.

I’m disturbed by WFAA’s report that 75% of all DISD grads attending DCCCD schools cannot read above the 8th grade level.

No wonder DMN readership has decreased so much. Few people can comprehend the print!
