The batter is an idiot. That pitch was nowhere close to his head. I wish the catcher hadn’t been pulled off before beating the crap out of him.

Classic comments from Grieve. This clip omits the later comments after the commercial where Grieve first said Sexton threw his helmet like a girl. He almost immediately apologized to “girls,” saying it was not appropriate for him to say that, because “Girls wouldn’t even throw their helmets like that.”
I did see this live at Safeco, and I gotta say, there was catnip or something else in the air. In the eighth inning, a guy tried picking a fight with me; when I didn’t respond to some quips he threw my way, he yelled, “What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue, Mr. Hilarious?”
I now have a new nickname.
Since the M’s are owned by Nintendo, they let you use a DS to wirelessly order food, watch replays, and so on. After the fight, I turned on the thing’s replay feature and was the big hit of section 342. Most violent gaming experience I’ve had since Grand Theft Auto 4.

Agree with OAD. The pitch was high but just barely inside. Richie Sexson was being pissy like a little girl. Maybe that’s why Grieve made that other comment!
What was also great in Grieve’s commentary was his recollection of a classic brawl way-back in the day…the names Willie Horton and Darrell Porter were included. That brought back some fun memories.
