Soccer Mom in the Making

sarah.jpgSarah’s car is in the shop. Usually she tools around town in a sporty Audi. But today when she dropped her car off at the dealership, the only rental they said they had available was a maroon minivan. I’m sure minivans are practical and great for kids, etc. A minivan is not practical, however, for a single girl-about-town. On the plus side, guess who’s driving us all to Kanye tonight?

Stacey, minivans are way, way cooler than they used to be. Just ask your boss, T-Rog, who was ferried to a Stars game a few days ago in a spectacularly blinged-out Nissan Quest. Of course, he was watching The Incredibles on the on-board tvs all the way there.

I’m sorry, but minivans are still pansy station wagons. I have more respect for people in station wagons though. To buy a station wagon nowadays is bucking the trend. To buy a minivan says, “Let’s take the kids for a fun day at Ikea!”. Ugh.

Enjoy the look of derision you are going to get from every valet you pull up to.

Stacey at Kanye!? Wouldn’t have guessed it. And, btw, when was “superpages.com Center” born? Assume it’s the old Starplex gone Smirnoff??

I have no doubt Sarah is a lovely individual, but how come she has no hands in the yellow shirt photo?

Who cares about the minivan? Sarah looks totally hot in that picture (even with the kids harshing my perv).

Word of advice for sweet Sarah - when you are behind the wheel, be prepared to be cut off, honked at and treated like you are not welcome on the road. When I had to use a minivan for work, other cars assumed I didn’t know how to accelerate and nearly ran me off the road. Good luck out there!

El Rey, you actually CARE what a valet thinks of your ride? Is he really your peer? If you really want to turn heads in Dallas, get a smart car. They attract more attn these days than a BMW or Porsche.

    What david said.

All respect goes out the window when your child chooses your vehicle. That’s all I’m sayin’. The valet reference was just one example. See JB’s post above for another.

I love love love my Honda minivan. It rocks when you need to haul just about anything, from 6 kids to 8-foot long tables. But sexy, it ain’t! When the kids are gone, it will be, too.
