And the more local it is, the more, er, spirited it gets. Here’s the agenda for the city council’s upcoming meeting in Rhome, Texas.

    Secretary: “Anything else need discussin?”

    Mayor: “Oh yeah! almost forgot! Death threats!”

    Almost as bad as the soccer moms driving into yards in their suburbans to mow over opposition yard signs during the 1997 school board election in Highland Park!
