1. Prediction: I don’t think Devon Smith and his mom will be living where a tree fell on top of Devon for long. And I think their soon-to-be-former landlord will be paying for their new place.

2. Police find a body in a cab in Grand Prairie, the victim of a gunshot wound. And that’s where these two stories diverge.

3. Fort Worth is actually installing more red-light cameras, even though violations are down.

Actually, the story from the DMN is non-specific as to the gender of the victim, but the headline identifies the victim as a man.

DMN story on the fallen tree ends with: “While the boy suffered some bumps to the head and possibly a broke leg, doctors said he will be okay.”

A broke leg? Where did this tree fall, the Old West?

Actually, the boy pinned under the tree doesn’t live there, so I expect it might be a little more painful for the landlord than just paying for a new place to live.

Broke leg? Thought it was broken. My son suffered a “broken” leg when he was 5 (I was an unfit mother) and went on to wrestle and play football.
