Trip Kuehne Hangs Em Up

Well, he’ll still play golf. But his competitive career will end at the Masters. A co-working FBvian points us to a good story about how Tiger Woods changed Kuehne’s life back in 1994 when he whipped him in the U.S. Amateur championships.

Are you serious? Did you even READ the story, sir? Being 5 holes down with 12 left to play does not constitute a “whipping”. Beating the nearest competitor by 12 shots at Augusta? Now you’re talking.

Agreed. I watched that final, and “whipped” doesn’t capture it. “Miraculously edged” would be more accurate.

This is a message to Trip: A guy doesn’t win a USGA championship (or get to the finals) as many times as you to just show up at Augusta and proceed to throw the party. WAKE UP, GET MAD… kick some ass! It pisses me off to see a guy who I remember seeing grow up at Stonebridge (and played numerous rounds with) and who was top dog, even over Justin…just to get to The Masters and have his game look like some hack off the weekend wait list at the local muni.

This talk about how his life changed when Tiger did what needed to be done to catch Trip… and Trip helped by not closing him out when he had him in the ropes is BS. He made a choice…and has done well from my understanding… BUT TRIP, come on… I am watching the scores as I write this and see you at 3 over through three! Screw Tiger, Screw your past, Screw all the back-slappers, screw ‘em all. It’s time for you to get pissed… get out there and fickin PLAY GOLF!
