On the left you see the May issue of Esquire, which has been leaked (and if you go to What Would Tyler Durden Do? you can see some really saucy pics of Jessica that will appear inside the magazine, if you’re into that sort of thing). On the right, you see the cover of the May issue of D Magazine, which has also been leaked. Do you see the similarities? Good grief. They clearly ripped us off. I mean, this goes against every journalism ethics rule in the book. They should be ashamed. Sure, their cover has Jessica shaving, and our cover has her right after she shaved, but they’re still too close. I don’t know if we can sue for this sort of thing, but a strongly worded letter from our lawyers is certainly in order.
I think you should call and offer them cactus juice before you sue.
Well, now I’m forced to go Girls Gone Sports so I can see some hot men because you people are NOT supplying the Eye Candy I want!
:b
Can we please get a real celebrity in Dallas to focus on! REALLY!I don’t get it….
Thanks for the support there, honey.
It’s hard, looking at that cover shot, to imagine anyone suggesting that Ms. Simpson’s presence could undermine Romo’s ability to toss his Dallas Cowboy balls effectively.
Celeste, get some scene control.
Hardy-har-har… At least Esquire has the ability to rip themselves off in a somewhat “ode-to-ourselves” sort of way (…thank you George Lois) - But simply putting Simpson on the cover of D-Mag is like, well, putting a photo of Batboy on the over of Weekly World News… A no brainer with a dash of Photoshop…
Warhol Reject! Au Contrare re: the ‘D’: Simpson May flower cover.
The last time I had my hands on that kind of ripened perfection, I was putting produce at Central Market in layaway.
Tim,
Does mean you’ll give us more detailed analysis of all new Jessica articles just like you did for the local Hill/Hunt lawsuit coverage?
Oh, wait. You never followed through on that.
I prefer her and Romo on the cover of the new issue of Horse And Rider.
I love big *******
Two magazines, two covers featuring hot stars with questionable talent. But very different art direction. Allow me to me extend on Warhol Reject’s remark–the Esquire cover, like the original (http://georgelois.com/Esq.virnalisi.html) is arresting if completely anachronistic (or does the 1965 “masculinazation of woman” question still linger behind the modern foam?); But it does get one thinking. At least. The D cover is, well, rather like a Spiegel catalogue cover.
