The Republican run-off election is tomorrow. HerePark Cities People lays out the case for Cannaday. In summary,
Lupe Valdez is a disaster, Jim Bowles is an angry old man. It’s time for a manager to run the sheriff’s department.

Do you still write editorials for PCP, Wick? I always find myself wondering if you’re linking to editorials you wrote without telling us as much.

Whoa…the guy is 70 years old?!?! What’s up with the GOP mining the AARP for its candidates these days. I wouldn’t consider him seasoned…more like preserved.
I might elect him as a door greeter at Wal-Mart, but not the friggin’ SHERIFF OF DALLAS!

Then you need to get to know him! I bet he would give you a run for your money! He is in great shape. COuld you stand at the polls EVRYDAY ALL DAY last week for early voting? After that still make meetings and speeches? He is the best man and can turn the Sheriff’s Department around for the good of ALL Dallas COunty citizens!

I have a totally different reason for voting for Lowell. He was my neighbor when I was in grade & high school. He brought home a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle. It need to be rebuilt and he let a 12 yr old neighbor boy hold the flashlight for him while he rebuilt this bike. That experience sparked a life long interest in motorcycles and mechanics. Even though my politics are more libertarian. I will vote for Lowell cause he’s “A Pretty Good Guy”.

FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine come to waste a tremendous amount of time.
