Re: Leading Off (Shaws’ Death Item)

Eric, that comment from John Wiley Price had me scratching my head, too. Even if he thought that Rufus Shaw didn’t have cancer (which is odd enough), why would he say that to a reporter? Read this post from Schutze. I’m with him. The mayor ought to convene a hearing. Otherwise, you know what? I just might start believing Sandra Crenshaw:

That was not a voluntary suicide. There is nobody in the African-American community who knows everything that’s going on here knows that Mr. Shaw and his wife did not voluntarily take their lives.”

Those people were both lowdown dirty crooks. Anyone who says otherwise has their head in the sand. There needs to be a complete financial audit of everything those people ever touched. I think many at DART or the City would be reluctant to do such an audit since it would uncover more theft, fraud and deceit.

Is there anything lower than faking cancer? Yes. Shaking down friends for fake cancer treatment money.

Nobody listens to that punk John Wiley Price over here in the hood, yall people just think we do. He doesn’t even live around black people and never did. Why doesn’t he shut his big sellout trap and keep stepping and fetching. He’s scared of the hood.

He’s just jealous and wants some attention.

If Rufus Shaw collected donations for cancer that was fake, that would make him a grifter. Schutze called him a grifter– in print– the day after he died and many people criticized Schutze for using that specific word, arguing that Shaw may have been broke but that did not make him a con man.

Even though Schutze has a good habit of apologizing in print when he has made a mistake, he conspicuously did NOT apologize for calling Shaw a grifter…

Add that little tidbit to the list of “things that make me go hmmmmm.”

It leads me to believe Schutze not only has worked his way closer to the truth than anyone else on this story, but has been there since the day of their deaths.

Just as a postscript, I probably should at least acknowlege that in lauding Schutze’s insight and acumen, I necessarily have to pretend he never made that comment about Crenshaw being intelligent…
