There go my weekend plans. I wasted on $10 getting my trenchcoat dry cleaned and 99 cents on a download.

University of Texas at Austin professor of government Bruce Buchanan was correct in stating politics may have played a role in Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s decision to cancel his scheduled weekend events in Dallas. While safety concerns surely played a role in Rev. Wright’s decision to not come to Dallas, the adverse publicity of his presence in Dallas could not be discounted. I am of the opinion Senator Obama’s campaign operatives may have advised Rev. Wright to keep a low profile at this time. The adverse publicity derived from Rev. Wright’s scheduled visit to Dallas could have hurt Senator Obama’s ability to attract very important independent and conservative democrats and provide cause for these voters to sway towards Senator Clinton’s campaign. The adverse publicity resulting from public demonstrations against Rev. Wright could have had a devastating effect on Senator Obama’s ability to attract and sustain voters from this category.

Of course, Obama wants to keep his “crazy uncle” and bigoted grandmother off the trail.

Don’t pay any attention to the man behind the curtain.
