Now, go to the Dallas Museum of Art for the new exhibition, “Bluebonnets and Beyond: Julian Onderdonk, American Impressionist.” Yesterday Christine Lieb from D Home and I went to the DMA for the press preview exhibition and a tour given by fabulous associate curator William Rudolph (that’s Christine’s favorite Onderdonk to the left, “Bluebonnets in Texas”). While bluebonnets might remind you of pictures in grandma’s living room, we assure these will blow you away. Onderdonk was a native son of Texas, and although he died at age 40, apparently he is one of our state’s most important artists. Don’t miss the periwinkle room, with over ten years worth of bluebonnet paintings. It’s breathtaking.
