Now word comes that Sandra Crenshaw aims to approach our advertisers about my unethical blogging. In fact, she went to Highland Park Village today, looking to meet with Vance Miller, apparently (though Crenshaw needs to get her Millers straight). And somehow Charlie Terrell, himself a former City Council member, got caught in the crossfire. Terrell was coming out of Larry North, having just finished his morning workout, when Crenshaw waylaid him for 30 minutes — about the Shaws, about FrontBurner, about Schutze, etc., etc.
Note to D Magazine advertisers: get your cactus juice ready.
So, she’s threatening to cut off your…. uh, advertisers?
She’s threatening to tell our advertisers to “selectively buy” from us until we get our ethics in order. She was going to ask them to boycott us, but then realized that asking for a boycott was illegal. BTW Tim- We need to send Holly flowers.
It should get interesting when she makes her way to one of the hospitals that advertise in D. Especially the ones with a good mental health program.
Hey Sandra, if you try to target the advertisers of D with a “select buy” initiative, we might ranch up and target the makers of Cactus Juice and Earl Campbell Links.
BTW, I wonder what Earl Campbell thinks of his now infamous association with Crenshaw.
Tim, I believe it’s your duty to contact your lawyers to see if Mr. Campbell has legal standing on this matter. Or at least I think that is how the law works according to Crenshaw.
That’s Texas Earl Campbell to you & me. IJS
Okay, Sandra, we, the Frontburner nation cry “uncle.” Your campaign worked. The D offices were shutting down this afternoon. Power to the people! Oh, yeah, it’s Good Friday…
Gosh, I missed the amanda!
‘Raspberry Almond Tort-ious interference’ … my wife not allowing me to purchase a fresh pastry at Starbucks this morning.
Asking for a boycott is illegal? How so?
That’s it, Sandra, I will never buy D again. I will never get breast implants or teeth whitening again. Can I still write for them?
Sorry, Bethany…I shipped the kiddos off for spring break, and have been doing nothing all week. But, I’m back, refreshed, and full of vim and vigor…
So I’m just wondering how many are in this protest.
