Farmers Branch Denied Entry to “Get Rid of Brown People” Program, Which Seems Odd, As It Sounds Like the Town Meets Every Requirement

I could have the official name of the program wrong. I just scanned this story, which says the good, clean, Grandy’s-lovin’ leaders of Farmers Branch were not allowed into a federal program that would make it easier to ID and deport undocumented immigrants. But, they’re still going to be trained in other aspects of the city’s primary mission, which is sort of the opposite of Star Trek’s.

Eric, Star Trek ? Are you serious ? Good job enhancing your credibility.

Sometimes the real world requires real solutions. But, if you want to go back to your channel changer to catch the next episode of Star Trek go ahead because someone else will still be here trying to protect you from yourself. Ignorance is bliss. Enjoy it while you can. Some day you will have to grow up.

  • Adam

George, you sound like a moron. Calling something a “real solution” doesn’t make it right. Hitler would have described his approach as a “real solution.” Many of us in America are hoping people like you grow old quickly and leave the planet so the rest of us can begin addressing problems like these from a practical, intelligent perspective, not a defensive, scared-of things-I-don’t-understand-and-people-who aren’t-just-like-me perspective.

  • Bethany

George clearly does not understand snark.

  • DM

Is it just me? Or does it seem the politicians (democrats and republicans) didn’t want to address all the real, serious issues of late and instead looked at us, pointed behind us and yelled … “Look! Mexicans!”

  • Bethany

    Now I’m hungry.

  • Steve

    The transmogrification is complete.

No longer are there “illegal” or “undocumented” , now they are just “brown”.

    Sad.

  • Maggie

    Adam: Best response ever.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

To be honest DM… When they pointed behind us and yelled…“Look! Mexicans!” - I looked and ordered a Cerveza.

  • Puddin'Tane

Hate, I bet you expected to get a menu too.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

No, not really… I just ordered fajitas.

  • Puddin'Tane

Odio, gracias por la electrican que me has enviado. Él ha hecho un gran trabajo!

Looks like we may have to take a trip by the People’s Pavillion in Denton- Necesito a alguien para poner en el piso para mí.

    ¿No es cierto?

  • SB

Maggie: Adam’s response is null and void because of Godwin’s Law (Google it). It took all of two comments for someone to make a Hitler/Nazi reference. Sorry Adam supporters, but the argument is over and you lose by default. Next time, brush up on the rules….

  • George

Adam, “Moron” and Hitler comparisions, surely, you can do better than that ? When you get around to pulling your head out of the sand you will realize that in your willingness to acknowledge there are problems you also acknowledge that you haven’t bothered to get off your back side to do anything about it. So, when are you going to “begin” to address the problems ? Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Are you the new Nero ? Or, is your solution looking the other way and enabling lawlessness and greediness ? If you respond please skip the empty rhetoric and histrionics. Be logical, not emotional.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

¡Ellos son la única gente que realmente trabaja en los Estados Unidos!

  • Bethany

I think I’d like to invoke Quirk’s Exception on SB. He’s brought up Godwin’s Law more than once.

Just because someone responds to a wildly over the top response with another doesn’t make it necessarily wrong. The whole genesis of the “law” rests in the hopes of reducing inappropriate hyberbole. In this case, some might feel that laws are being constructed that do in some way toe the line of wanting to rid a community of those that are not a preferred skin color or heritage.

The reference was not inappropriate. The invoking of Godwin’s Law was.

  • Mike

I’m sorry but I don’t think most of the people here speak “Third World.”

  • SB

Enforcing immigration laws and the slaughter of 6 million people is not a logical comparsion. And it really pisses me off that you so-called liberals would trivalize the worst tragedy ever committed to prove any point that involves an issue of race.

  • Puddin'Tane

  • SB

You shouldn’t assume none of us speak Spanish. What you’re writing just isn’t that interesting. Even if you do own several Mexican restaurants….

  • Bethany

    Alguien es malhumorado.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

It is not that our country is trying to rid a community of those that are not a preferred skin color or heritage. We just want people to come over following the immigration laws…and learn to English.

  • SB

That’s the Bethany I’ve come to know and love. And you’re right. Work sucks today.

  • Amandax9362

I know I will get burned for saying this but I have too. I do not understand why Farmers Branch keeps being portrayed as if they want to keep out anyone of Latino origin. This is not the case, it is anyone who is here illegally. I say power to them, I am glad there is someone standing up for the ‘rules’ even if they aren’t popular. I have open arms for all who want to live in our great land. However, this must be tempered with the same discipline of love you give your children. Yes we love you and want to have you here, but here are the steps you must take first. Why is that wrong to ask? Why is it wrong to expect compliance?

  • I HATE PEOPLE

Well Mike, perhaps more people should learn to speak another language…Are you saying Spanish is “Third World”?

  • Puddin'Tane

    I love Hate…

now get back to work at one of your thirteen jobs!

  • Bethany

Awww…. I’ll forgive you for calling me a liberal, too. I prefer left-wing, bra-burning, commie pinko.

  • Daniel

Good point, I HATE PEOPLE [all caps in original]. Everybody should, in fact, “learn to English.”

  • Bethany

I tried, but I suck at pool.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

Amandaz9362 - Good Point. Farmers Branch is being portrayed as a city that wants to keep people out… only because many there are to people like “Daniel” in this world. I wonder if many people here have lived in another country… how many of these mother ******* can speak another language. Probably not many. Many people in the United States are narrow minded… and most of all ignorant.

  • Rawlins

Farmers Branch is in the throws of a mid-life crisis. Someone give them a (white) Porsche.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

    LOL- that is funny Rawlins..

  • I HATE PEOPLE

it does appear as if I need to proof read my comments before I post them… LOL

  • Puddin'Tane

Hate, you write better in Spanish than English. Prolly ’cause you were a product of the Coppell school system.

    Jes sayin’.

  • Daniel

I guess there are too many people — or mother*******, as I HATE PEOPLE would have it — like me in the world.

6,599,999,998 too many. (My two children don’t count in the “too many” category.)

Nice call against provincialism and ignorance, though, IHP. We’re all taking notes.

  • Puddin'Tane

Daniel, if you only knew…..and you should take the nom de plume seriously.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

Perhaps I should write in Spanish Puddin’Tane. I do have to say that not all 6,599,999,998 people in the world are ignorant like you Daniel. You should find a way to put a little more culture in your life. And if you are wondering - I am a WHITE American. I am sure that is shocking to some!

And you are correct Puddin’Tane – Daniel should take note of the nom de plume…as it truly is not a joke!

  • DM

    Hey, where’s Lou Dobbs?

  • Daniel

You’ve roused me to action, IHP. I’m going to learn to Spanish — toute suite!

And while I’m putting a little “culture” in my life, I think I’ll add some “weather” to it, as well.

Think I just might find both in Coppell …

  • Daniel

    Toute de suite.

  • PuddinTane

I’ve never known a “toot” to be sweet, but hey!

  • I HATE PEOPLE

Good Luck Daniel… I wish you the best…but why would you want to learn a language of people that you believe that you are above? And yes, you will find culture and weather in Coppell… I hope you survive!

  • I HATE PEOPLE

You might want to call Berlitz Language School, if you can afford it…They will have you speaking Spanish in no time… if your not stupid!

  • Bethany

    you’re

  • Cyrus

Hey, how ’bout that upcoming Parkland Mexican Baby Bond Election?

I’m just hoping Southwest donates TWO emergency slides for the new maternity ward to keep up with the new pace.

What? Of COURSE another tax-sucking bond issue will pass in a heartbeat. Why wouldn’t it?

  • Bethany

Actually, it is true the extra space the bond issue will provide will mean more room to birth babies (http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/stories/2003/03/03/focus11.html).

    However: http://www.snopes.com/politics.....kland.asp.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

I do not believe that we should have to pay for any illegal’s babies… regardless of race. I also don’t believe that we should have to pay more taxes to give the poor a leg to stand on. They should have to go get as many jobs as they need to survive - and STOP having babies if you can’t afford it. GAWD! And don’t even get me started…if an illegal has a baby here then that child is a citizen - give me a break! That is crap!

  • Bethany

So…IHP, is there anything you like? Puppies, gratuitous violence, Food Network, opera, sea monkeys, flan, Montenegrin folk art, Prada lipstick holders, Pez, Chuck Norris, what?

All this negativity in one person…

  • Puddin'Tane

IHP has been self-sufficient since high school, put herself through university, is a business woman and was in a long term relationship with a Mexican National who bothered to go about getting his dual citizenship in the correct manner.

It’s a matter of requiring people to abide by the laws and seek citizenship as the government has set forth.

If not, they need to be sent home and while they are tourists here they aren’t entitled to freebees. End of Story.

  • Daniel

I certainly Pity the Poor Immigrant in question. At least he didn’t marry her.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

I guess Daniel and Bethany would both like to pay for illegal’s medical expenses… I don’t think anyone is entitled to a free ride. What I don’t like are people who think they deserve something because of their ethnicity. If a person is truly unable to work (no arms and no legs) then yes, they should have assistance provided.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

Daniel… to bad you did not consider abortion… The world would have been a better place.

  • Bethany

Again with the assumptions. I just wondered if you liked anything.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

Who ever said that I don’t like things! I just don’t like most people. People, for the most part do not say what they mean and mean what they say.

  • I HATE PEOPLE

    *Whoever said…
