The Man Behind Blogmaverick.com HATES Bloggers

cuban dancingThat’s my takeaway from this incredible post, where DMN Mavs blogger Tim MacMahon reveals he’s been banned from the Mavs lockeroom. Cuban/Mavs say that’s because there isn’t enough room for all the bloggers who want to cover the team. What. Ever. (I’m sure it had nothing to do with MacMahon reporting on the fire-Avery sentiment in the wake of his temporary insanity in leaving Jason Kidd on the bench at the end of the recent Spurs game.) Cuban, in a post on his web site, also makes the incredibly ridiculous claim that, until this dust-up occurred, he’d NEVER READ the DMN‘S Dallas Maverics blog. That is the perhaps the most insane thing he’s ever typed, even more than when he claimed he never even noticed that Jason Kidd didn’t play in the last half-minute of the Spurs game two weeks ago. MacMahon and Deadspin respond. Good stuff for your sports pants.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing he hasn’t ever read a Tim MacMahon blog post either, given that he cops to using an RSS feed in one of his blog posts yesterday.

The action by Cuban relative to Tim MacMahon may seem confusing to the average person: yet its rationale becomes obvious if one only thinks like Cuban.

    – The banning of an adverse blogger from the Mavs locker room precipitates a controversy.

    – Out of the controversy results more publicity, with the klieglights of the press being focused on Cuban.

    – Cuban gets to bask in, and respond to, such publicized controversy, generating even more press for The Needy One.

    Mission Accomplished.

That’s what happens when a guy hits one grand slam and starts thinking he’s Babe Ruth. Wrong call, Mark. It doesn’t fly.
