Ebby Marks Her 97th
Ebby Halliday celebrated her 97th birthday with the help of her physician Dr. Hugh McClung, who hosted a dinner for the uber-Realtor Saturday night at The Palm Restaurant in the West End. Everybody in the joint joined in singing “Happy Birthday” to Ebby, who’s also set to receive the 79th annual Linz Award March 26 at the Fairmont. You can recite all these facts, but they don’t do justice to the utter remarkableness of this public treasure, who has retained such a clear-eyed vitality she puts the rest of us laggards to shame. Forget Jesus and Willie; my mantra for all questions in life has become, “What would Ebby do?”

“Hugh McClung” is clearly a made up name.
I giggled when I read it, so it has to be.
Exact same thing that urged me to the comments thread.
I even scrutinzed it for ribaldry, but came up short.
Obviously a simple typo… it should read Dr. Huge McHung

Hugh McClung is not a made up name. if Tim had done his research, he would have seen that Dr. McClung was voted one of the best doctors in Dallas in D Magazine.
I personally know the McClung family. Hugh Sr. was also a well-respected physician in Dallas. Hugh Jr’s sister Laura, used to run the Chanel store in HP Village; she now works at William Noble. This is a very dignified family of Dallas.
Congrats to Ebby on her birthday and all her accomplishements.
Ever seen the commercial where she says, “My eyesight is very important to me …”?
No sh!t Mrs. Obvious, as if most people take eyesight for granted! She knows real estate, but she doesn’t know a bad script for a commercial!
