New Playground at Dallas Zoo Totally Popular With Area Small People

Those of us who happened to visit the Dallas Zoo’s Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo today around 3:30 got a real treat. After a couple months of construction, a new play area opened for business. I’m fairly certain my 2-year-old daughter claims the honor of being the first kid to shed tears at the venue. The metal barricades had been taken away literally four minutes before she bonked her head and let loose with enough of the wet stuff to fill the Patrick and Beatrice Haggerty Foundation Stream (dry today but up and running soon enough, I was told). Anyway, Those Who Care can jump for more photos, including one of the tearful wee lass.

I usually take my daughter to the Fort Worth Zoo. However, with this spiffy new park, I may need to give the Dallas Zoo a second chance.
