Derek Harper Is Way Too Tall, And His Tie Is Too Short

Here in the third quarter of the Mavs vs. Nets game, I’m thrilled to see that Kidd is besting Harris. But, really, more to the point: how could Derek Harper possibly tie his tie THAT short? Insane.

Update: Now in the fourth quarter, and Dirk is one point away from capturing the Mavericks’ record for all-time scoring (sorry, Ro Blackman). But, still, Harp’s tie has me fascinated. What will happen when it returns for the post-game?

  3. It’s a trick of the trade. I’m sure his jacket was supposed to be buttoned…but with a shorter tie you can get a bigger knot. Several TV anchors and personalities do it.

  10. Dharp is listed as 6′4 but methinks he’s actually an inch or two shorter. He probably fudged his height a few inches like most of the other nba players.
