The Morning News has a story this morning about what happened with Sandra Crenshaw Tuesday night. Man, it sounds like it was a wild scene. Meanwhile, Crenshaw herself has set a record for the longest comment in FrontBurner’s history. Check out her 2,370-word explanation of what happened here (scroll down — and then keep scrolling down). If you don’t have time to read the entire thing, here’s a highlight:
My lawyer is reviewing the description in the headlines here [ed: on FrontBurner] for a libel suit, and I suspect this was the job of a Sandra Crenshaw haters in Dallas. Now print that, D Magazine.
Update: … and Crenshaw continues to respond. Refresh this post frequently. It seems to have become the official Crenshaw discussion forum. Personal note to Ms. Crenshaw: thank you for keeping it lively. I’ve deleted several comments that were racist and didn’t add to the discussion. I’ll continue to moderate them.
Oh, come on people does this really surprise anyone?
Precinct Chair,Clinton supporter, the need to deliver some delegates. Rats! I have no
delegates hey I know I’ll just make myself some.
Eat breakfast at Denny’s
Love those pancakes.
It’s times like this when I really miss Dallas. It’s also times like this when I don’t miss Dallas so much.
On behalf of the Republican Party, “You Stay Classy, Dems!”
don’t worry mr. enron h. abramoff, we’ll stay classy as long you stay corrupt.
It’s funny how Democrats scream when Republicans propose some legislation that they assume is censorship or believe is suppression of First Amendment rights. Then when their own names are put in the public eye, even in the least negative context, they whine and complain that they are being disparaged and dragged through the mud. So they look at filing libel, even slander, suits. I seem to remember a phrase from a few years ago…I think it was “flip flop.”
Ditto, John.
“Classy” is a word used by white trash when dazzled by rhinestones.
ROFLMAO WTG Jason!
Gents-
A house divided aganst itself cannot stand. Now kiss and make up.
Sandra Crenshaw needs to look up the definitions of run-on sentence and comma splice. It is sad that a former city council woman has such a tenuous hold on the basic rules of grammar.
This is such greatness, she has no idea that she is only hurting herself more. *****.
After reading the entire 2370 - word response (I’ll never get those 5 minutes back), I kinda have no idea what she was saying.
Right after Matt brings up grammar rules, Chris breaks two of them.
nice work, nathan. sounds like you’re saying:
democats are all hypocrites.
now, remind us again about this “republicans demand less government”, and how that seems to exclude the years 2000 to 2006 when republicans were actually in charge of the exectuive and legislative branch.
or better yet, i’ll cut and mangle your own words:
It’s funny how Republicans scream about demanding less government, ending earmarks/pork spending, and stopping nation building. Then when their own party is put in power and controls most of government, they forget to whine and complain about conservative their agendas, spend alot of money, increase the size of government, and start nation building. I seem to remember a phrase from a few years ago…I think it was “flip flop.”
She also needs to learn the beauty and wisdom of paragraph breaks. And to omit details — e.g., Texas Earl Campbell Links — that will cause the reader to laugh at an inopportune moment in the narrative. And to have a narrative in the first place — studies show readers prefer one that’s “discernible.” And to eschew didactic asides, however enlightening they might be, such as informing us that the Texas Two Step is a Western dance. (A link to Wikipedia would suffice.)
Actually, she should learn none of these things and post in these pages daily. For once, I’m in thoroughgoing agreement with MIssing dots.
“I’ll sue you!” - the classic middle school response!
I served Ms. Crenshaw one evening at an infamous lower Greenville trattoria. Given my personal contact with her I am stunned her message was as articluate as it was/wasn’t. Help me Ms. Crenshaw, be my muse. Edit me. Sue me. And, stay classy.
Besides the crazy wheels off response this lady posted, I would like to know where she learned to read and write the english language? Good gawd lady, you need to go back to third grade.
south dallas edumacation at it’s finest?
What is the latest count on S Dallas liberals being investigated by the FBI?
I’m sure Ms Crenshaw will take pride in being added to that list.
Ask Ms. Crenshaw why blacks didn’t come out and vote? Their turnout was very low, hispanics very high. The “wicked witch” Hillary played it beautifully. Blacks gave her the win by staying home. Crazy business.
I’m sorry, axe Ms. Crenshaw…..
The scarier part is that she’s her own lawyer. Tim, you and the D staff should look forward to very entertaining moments in court when she actually files those papers. Ask anyone who’s been sued by her, which is about 4,680 people by now.
The people have spoken Ms. Crenshaw. We want the video. We want you to keep writing. We want “the transcripts”. We want English tutoring for you. We want to be able to link into internet infinity your command of our native tongue. The only thing that could possibly make this any better would be if somhow we could inflame Diane Ragsdale to join Ms. Crenshaw, sort of a duet. Who’s with me?
I am with you, Amanda, I am!
Tim:
I think you spoke too soon when you said the Caucus coverage didn’t affect traffic on FB. This thread is the greatest thing since Cactus Juice.
Sandra:
Fight the Power. Keep Hope Alive. The Pen is Mightier than the Sword. And by all means, Keep Us Laughing.
I thought for sure this was an imposter claiming to be Crenshaw, until I read this.
oh my….

I thought Rick James was dead?
Thanks for stepping in, Tim… In an update, the videographer wants to release his video to both the Clinton and Obama campaigns, and is contacting them both now as to the best way to do that. He doesn’t want to align the video with either candidate and wants them to each have full access to what it contains. He also wants to go through them instead of the media, so the campaigns can see it in its entirety first.
I found an old video of Sandra Crenshaw.

Three Excerpts from a Dallas Observer story,
April 27, 2000
The best part:
In court proceedings, she wrote “Do not have full emotional stability to sustain concentrated effort.”
Part One
Beyond that, Crenshaw conceded in an interview that the feds also accused her of bribery in the Yellow Cab-Lipscomb case. She agreed to a limited immunity deal and testified for the state before the grand jury that indicted Lipscomb. Although Crenshaw admits she accepted cash from Yellow Cab, she says she either reported the money as campaign contributions or solicitied it as charity for social-service organizations in her district.
Part Two
Crenshaw says a less forgiving electorate — not an ethics code — will clean up District 8. Her campaign, she said, is all about “full exposure” of the practices of crooked politicians she knows. She conceded in an interview, though, that she accepted use of a truck, received free car repairs, and often stopped by the Yellow Cab office for a drink before and after meetings — all while sitting on the council and championing the company’s position in votes and interviews.”
Part Three
Upset by unfavorable publicity about her involvement with Yellow Cab, Crenshaw brought civil lawsuits over the past year and a half against Channel 11 and Rufus Shaw, who writes a column for the Elite News. In the Channel 11 case, which a judge later threw out, Crenshaw represented herself. She pleaded indigence, asked the court to waive filing fees, and filled in answers about her finances on a required questionnaire.
In the document, which was file-stamped in February 1999, the 46-year-old Crenshaw wrote that she was not employed.
“Do not have full emotional stability to sustain concentrated efforts,” Crenshaw wrote. She described her occupation as “contract labor for political and government purposes.”
In her suit against Shaw, filed last month, she described her occupation as “sales.” In her filing for the city council seat filed earlier this month, Crenshaw listed her occupation as “community relations.”
Asked to explain specifically how she supports herself, Crenshaw said that “my family supports me” and that they would continue to do so if she retakes a seat on the council, which pays $50 a meeting for expenses.”
Great call Dots, she does look like Rick James. Perhaps the people following her were mistaken autograph seekers.
Groud the Jett, now yours is really funny. Others here sound like they are playing with themselves.
