Precinct 1216 (University Park): Another Rep Goes Barack

Another long-time Republican crossed over, not so much for Barack as it was against Hillary:

My first Dem vote ever (I’m 50). I voted Obama because I despise her and want to help torpedo her. At 1:10 the Dem machine had 450. ( I think that is a lot) There were more in the Dem area then the Pub area. My wife voted McCain this morning, and a precinct guy told her he has never seen this many come to the Dem side. From my e-mail rotation with about 30 guys….it’s about half and half….half think we can beat her in the Fall easier than him, so they voted Hillary… Half of us cannot stand her, so we voted Obama.

  1. This guy’s actions shows why we are truly not ready for self-government. Voting in a primary where you do not belong is not an exercise in democracy, but in rat-f***ing. I want everyone to remember this when you start hearing about how the Republican Party is a bastion of patriotism and good civics. They are snakes, just like the other side. I wish bad things on them.

  2. I agree with Max. Republicans have been talking about voting for Hillary in the primary because they feel she would be easier for McCain to beat in November. Chicken s**t ethics, vote for the candidate that best represents your views and values, not to sabotage your opponent.

  4. I wouldn’t worry about it. There are just many “Crossovers” doing so to vote against Obama as there are voting against Hillary. Ethical? No. Legal? Yes.
If you want to talk about currupt election processes, go to Wisconsin. You can show up, non-registered and without ID, and vote on election day. In 2000, the Dems there bussed several hundred homeless people to the polls, providing cigarettes in exchange for votes.

  5. Who the he** are you to tell me I can’t vote in the Dem primary? And who are you to judge the ethics of it? I voted for HC because the Republican race is over and I’d rather have a moderate like Senator Clinton in the White House than a leftwing socialist. And yeah, I think the Republicans have a better chance if Senator Clinton is the nominee, but I can live with the outcome of that race either way.
