That’s Alternative to Alternative

So, I just commented on Jim Schutze’s excellent post about Woodrow Wilson. Go read it if you’re interested. But I just wanted to point out what always kills me when I post on Unfair Park (the blog of the Dallas Observer) is the following message you get when you finish your comment:

Especially because that means, somewhere in the city, I’m creating work for Robert Wilonsky and his iPhone. That tickles me.

Maybe Robert can explain why that is so.

Besides DMN’s Jeffery blog unfair park is the only place I’m treated like a threat.

Enough to tick off a whole room full of otherwise decent people, wrong time of the month or not.

FrontBurner says the same thing. Did you have a real point, or are you just making the observation?

For the record, inter-city public school doesn’t make kids smarter, but it does provide them more sense (assuming they choose to accept it).

I guess they have to create a new standard of “diversity” in order to cover up the fact that the kids can’t read, write, or understand how to balance checkbook when they graduate/dropout.

Our inner city public schools are failing miserably.

I think it’s more like the parents are failing miserably, not the schools, if the kid can’t read, write or balance a checkbook. Education extends beyond the classroom. It’s up to parents to teach their children the value of an education.

I went to Bryan Adams (grad. 98) and got a great education, thank you very much, because I cared enough to learn. I wouldn’t trade my experiences or education for the world.
