Owen Wilson Heading Back to Work

For the first time in six months, Owen Wilson will begin work on a new film project. The movie, titled Marley & Me, will co-star Jennifer Aniston and is scheduled to hit theaters in December. In September, Owen dropped out of a Ben Stiller project called Tropic Thunder. This, of course, was after his apparent suicide attempt last August. He’s been laying low since then, occasionally popping up here and there with buddy Woody Harrelson. We’re glad to see Owen getting back on his feet.

  1. If the movie is even to compare to the book, Wilson will have to give a nuanced performance unlike any he’s done to date in his film career (although Grogan’s wife has to be absolutely thrilled that Aniston’s playing her). If he plays this role like he seems to have played basically everthing since Dignan, the movie will wind up as little more than a desecration of a powerful and moving book.

  3. He’s on the mend from substance abuse, and hangs out with who? Woody Harrelson? Why not just room with Robert Downey Jr?
