Short answer: Highland Park Village. Slightly longer answer: Highland Park Village for a D Magazine marketing event called A Stroll Through Highland Park Village. A longer answer as well as the identity of the handsome gentleman pictured at left and why he’s showing off that new shirt: (after the jump)
Next Saturday, D and Highland Park Village are putting on quite the extravaganza. Our marketing maven Mary Poe describes much of what goes on:
Fashion presentations by D Magazine’s fashion editor Stephanie Quadri at Escada at 3 and 3:30 pm and Ann Fontaine at 5 and 5:30 pm, famous children’s entertainer Eddie Coker, and complimentary spring portraits by Haynsworth Photography at Scoop, appraisals of your antiques and 20% discount at Gerald Tomlin Antiques, and “How Tos” such as How To Tie a Bow Tie at Ralph Lauren, How to Arrange Flowers at Avant Garden, How to Dress a Bed at D. Porthault, and How to Set A Table at Williams Sonoma, a chance to win a pair of Jimmy Choos, and a champagne toast at Warron Baron with a chance to win 10% off of a wedding gown purchase.
As for the photo: If you look closely at the itinerary, you’ll see 2-4 p.m., there’s an opportunity to meet Tim Rogers, Eric Celeste, and myself at Q Shirtmakers (except I’m told Eric won’t be able to make it). There, at Q, you can bid on a shirt designed by we three fashionable gents. The clothiers at Q will custom make a shirt for the winning bidder (proceeds go to Dallas SCORES charity). They already made this shirt, obviously, in order to show off their shirt-making skillz. As for the handsome, imposing, powerful man in the picture… do I look fat? Here’s a picture of the shirt in detail:
You’ll likely be hearing about the Stroll again next week, but mark your calendars now.
No, you don’t look fat. Because you’re clearly sucking in your gut. Cutie.
Turns out I’ll be on an airplane, but there in spirit.
I’ll sit in for Eric if there’s any interest. Somehow, I’m not hopeful.
Will you marry me?
