When the Mobil at the corner of Buckner and Northcliff shut down a while back, I despaired. There wasn’t anything special about the place — except its convenience for yrs trly, who lives in the hood. For those Lake Highlanders and Casa Lindars similarly bereft, I bring the following news: scheduled to open February 18 is something called Green Spot Market and Fuels. A flier in my grubby little hands claims the outpost will offer unleaded and biodiesel fuels, organic and free trade coffee, a “green kids section,” a natural soda fountain, fresh flowers, and — no kidding — sushi. There goes the neighborhood.

“Sushi” and “gas station” should never be in the same sentence. I am, however, looking forward to the section where I can buy small green-colored children.
will they be selling erykah badu cds?
I think I’ll stick with the combination Pizza at Angelos, in the same strip center. There’s green in the salad. After that pizza I’d be content enough to sit on that sofa in the lake.
California rolls…now with Techron.
Erykah Badu lives only a few blocks away. That is the nearest gas station to her house.
I wonder if the new gas station will sell the Left Behind books too?
your slacking, rogers, i heard about this about a month ago and immediately told one of the owner/developers that i loved the G-Spot pun, which he (like you) hadn’t thought of until it crossed my lips (’nutter pun, oh, how witty i think i am)
although i did say that particular wordplay on the name of the store could insult some of the bible-thumpin’ teetotalin’ set…
anyway, looking forward to seeing it open, as one big problem to alt fuels is the distribution system, but i don’t wanna say to much, as next thing i know yous’ll be writing a piece about it
slackers
and i’ll go ahead and correct my grammar there before all these faux editors/grammar police pounce
i meant you’re as in you are; not your as in the possessive form of you
and what’s with all these folks slamming people about spelling/punctuation errors in the comments lately anyway? or accosting someone about “not reading prior posts?”
i don’t get that…maybe yous should all try to get a job as a Copy Boy with D
Will they sell B100 biodiesel?
We will be selling B5 in one of our underground tanks and either B100 or B99 in five gallon to-go containers. We would be happy to sell Badu’s cds.
This is a great neighborhood addition! They carry a few of the “Whole Foods/Central Market” type staples that will make it easier to replenish (without a trip to Greenville or Preston). The ready-made sandwiches are great, fresh and interesting. And no, I don’t work there! I’m just a neighbor and work close too…
I stopped in last night and was impressed (not easy – long day and my inner Grinch was firing on all cylinders.) The store is still ramping up, but it was nice to pick up some fairly priced, dinner-suitable ravioli without having to make the trek to a grocery store. The man running the place is nice and will stock products that you request (score!).
I’m looking forward to having a place that I can easily dash in and grab some tasty fix-at-home food and flowers. Hooray for the Green Spot.
Love the idea and the snacks truly are fantastic!! A wine and beer section with eco-friendly selections would not be bad either!
I zoomed in the morning and was so please at what I saw. Even as I parked, in the window was Planet Inc paper towels. I’ve been looking for these at my local Kroger forever, as they are finally getting Planet Inc products– but now I don’t have to wait on them! I get good vibes from this place.
To Eco Expert: can you fill in a couple of blanks for me? i’ve had interest in using biodiesel in my truck since i’ve moved to Dallas, but haven’t found a local station providing it.(or they contantly run out of it.)
First off, isn’t B5 actually 5 percent biodiesel? If it is I’m not sure that I feel I’ll be making all that much of a difference – to the environment or to pay any extra at the pump.
Also, do you anticipate selling the B100 from the pump? I have a 35 gallon tank to fill about 3 times a month, and purchasing small quantity containers is going to get old pretty fast. I appreciate it.
I love this place. I work right by it and go by almost every day I’m at work once or twice!
Kudos to an ambitious young man trying to make a difference and a living. If more people would put their money where their mouth is we’d have less people asking for government handouts.
I plan on making the trip from Plano just to check it out.
What’s wrong with the Left Behind Books?
Terry:
Sorry for the delay in responding. The demand for B99 has been great. We are in the process of getting a 500-1000 tank for the B99 that will hopefully allow people to pump directly into their vehicle or portable tank. This should happen in the next week or so.
Are you producing your own fuel or are you buying form that outfit in Denton?
And where is your website?
I live around the corner from niecy nash
After reading the article, I feel that I need more info. Could you suggest some resources ?
