Moneybags Meet, Eye Film Business

Everybody may be talking about the “softening” economy. But that hasn’t stopped nearly 50 high-rollers from around the country from gathering at Rosewood’s Mansion on Turtle Creek today to consider pumping millions of dollars into an innovative new movie venture. The closed-door meeting arranged by Infusion Capital was set to feature a pitch by L.A.-based IndieVest, an independent studio that hopes to produce feature films–each of which would be bankrolled by a network of wealthy individuals, or IndieVest “members.” CEO Wade Bradley is seeking $3 million from the high-rollers here today, a figure that would give the company a total of $10 million to get its indy-film financing scheme off the ground.

Love the stock art on the Infusion Capital homepage. It’s so businessy!
