One attendee at Ed Bark’s Saturday interview with Tracy Rowlett was Rebecca Aguilar, the Fox4 reporter who was indefinitely suspended a few months ago for allegedly “ambush”-interviewing a 70-year-old property defender. Asked what she was doing these days, Aguilar replied: “I started my fourth month [on suspension last] Wednesday. I’m pretty much being paid to stay home.”

Gosh, if I was a Belo shareholder, I would just love knowing that my hard-invested dollars were paying an errant reporter to stay-at-home.
Belo owns Fox4?
No, I was wrong. Unfortunately, not the first time… Rupert Murdoch?
News Corporation http://www.newscorp.com/ owns Fox 4. My point is that whoever owns it, the shareholders ought to be enraged. News Corp releases its fiscal second quarter financials in early February…
Oh my. Any idea how big NewsCorp is? 4 months of her salary is minimal. Perhaps their legal team decided it was cheaper to pay her rather than have something settled in court.
There’s no question that a big company like News Corporation will do whatever costs them less. If paying Aguilar to sit is cheaper than fighting a legal battle, they’ll pay her to sit for years. I guess if I were her I’d start to enjoy it after a while and get a good resume together for my next job.
If she’s suspended much longer, they’ll have to introduce her as a new reporter when (if) she comes back.
