Ron Kirk, I Need Your Help

Just finished reading Ron Kirk’s op-ed letter to Laura Miller in today’s paper about what a great success the Victory development — spurred by the AAC — has been. But one sentence toward the end made me stumble:

I sincerely hope that you are as proud of what we accomplished working together in building a new and vibrant urban center for our great city.

As proud as what? The previous sentence didn’t mention any pride that we could compare ours to. So what’s missing? Ron Kirk, did the DM editors mess this one up? “I sincerely hope that you are as proud as I am of what we accomplished …” ? “I sincerely hope that you are as proud of what we accomplished working together in building a new and vibrant urban center for our great city as you are proud of your mustache” ?

Help?

  3. Is it truly a success when all the retailers are subsidized so to speak. As an example J Lindeberg would have never chosen Victory Park as a location until Hillwood came in and bought the Texas rights to the store. You can also see that the liquor sales seem to be declining for Nine and Nove. That is not a good sign.
