A window-having FrontBurnervian reports:

Huge fire in uptown, same building as Bibbentuckers - where part of my wardrobe is presently - according to DFD. Any FBers know anything?

Anyone?

Update: A friend-having FrontBurnervian says,

My friend who lives in Uptown just text messaged me it was the Loon!

Oh. No. Bad. Bad.

Update, Update: Looking more like Bibbentucker’s. So reports Merritt Martin. And so looks like from this photo someone sent me (more pictures here):

I just spoke to my dad (who lives off Blackburn) and he said Cole is totally blocked off at Blackburn right by West Village. He said it looks like West Village.

LOTS of smoke…wind’s not helping, either. I can see the news choppers hovering about, but nothing up on either NBC or DMN sites…yet.

And they are not letting firefighters in because of the chemicals. So they just have a hose propped up from a truck and are spraying water in that way.

Oh man. I really wanted it to be the Loon. But this is still interesting. BMWs and Hummers will begin circling to learn the fate of their powersuits and designer clothes any moment now.

It started at Bibbentuckers, it is a total loss. My husband works at one of the other store.

Craziest part of this is Bibbentucker’s had 31 employees inside. 31 in a dry cleaners? No wonder their prices are ridiculous. I’ve never seen more than 10 employees tops in a dry cleaners.

I moved from Dallas. Miss Bibbentuckers. a bit costly but a DARN GREAT JOB of cleaning and WONDERFUL SERVICE. and I drive a Chevy.
