From a FrontBurnervian in the field:
Just drove by the Crescent and saw a 20-foot banner being held up by upset Rosewood workers. It said “Shame on Rosewood Hotels and Resorts” and in the corner it had written “Labor Dispute.” The banner is on the sidewalk, right in front of Stanley Korshak.

The sleeping giant in this country is not race issues. The sleeping giant is not terrorism. The sleeping giant in this country is not immigration.
The sleeping giant in this country is class issues relating to economic disparity, wages, etc.
the “alert” frontburnervian failed to mention that the sign is being held up by three men who appear to be somewhat timid in their picket-ing.
i don’t know how strongly followed their “cause” is.
Obviously they are not picketing with the current writers’ guild strike, otherwise they would be a little clearer on their message as to what their beef is.
Kersten Rettig is the PR chick for Rosewood. I sent her this link and judging from the two missed calls and voice mail from her, I’m thinking there’s another side to the story. You never know. Tim, should I have her ask for you?
Richard, you are right on.
The picketers in front of Stanley Korshak at The Crescent are not Rosewood employees, past or present. They represent the Southeastern Carpenters Regional Council, a carpenter and millworker union, which has a grievance against a subcontractor for a construction project in Atlanta called The Mansion on Peachtree. The project includes condominiums, restaurants, a spa and a hotel. The hotel will be managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. Rosewood is not the developer or the owner of this project and therefore is not in the position to secure contractor relationships.
Richard, you nailed it. The next war the US sees will not be between the US and a middle eastern country or a religion. It’ll be between the Haves-who-are-having-more-every-day and Have-Nots-who-are-having-less-every-day.
Shrub and Poppie and their buds from Skull & Crossbones are too busy buying their 4th mansion–this time in Switzerland, dahling–to notice.
do me a favor and find something better to do with your time! if this is what you do you need to buy a car or get married have kids, go skydiving, hunt a bear, find something to do rather than jumping into other peoples lives in order to confirm yours…. that means do something that you like if you can’t get it
