Designer Jhane Barnes Headed for DFW

You can hear all sorts of news hanging out in Dick Baker’s Platinum suite at the AAC for a Dallas Stars game. Like, big-deal menswear designer Jhane Barnes is coming to town for a shindig at The Shops at Legacy in Plano. Barnes will make an in-store appearance in April for the 10th anniversary of Mike Zack’s Circa 2000 Fine Menswear store there, says Zack. She’ll also be doing something special for Dallas’ Scottish Rite Hospital.

Zack was at the AAC for the second time in two days, having sat in the third row the night before for the Billy Joel concert. Reason: Zack outfits Mark Rivera, a longtime bass player for Joel, with Barnes shirts.

Besides jawboning with Baker, who heads the local Luxury Marketing Council, Zack had another reason to attend Wednesday’s hockey game: the Stars dancers were all wearing Fortune jeans, which Zack hawks for the Carrollton-based Fortune Denim company. The form-hugging jeans have become super-popular of late, with high-profile customers including Eva Longoria and Fergie.
