Plano Mall Gets Nipped, Tucked

As I ready to celebrate another birthday next week, the DMN brings news that makes me feel even older. Says here that Collin Creek, the mall of my youth, is getting a fancy makeover, including installation of this in the old Mervyn’s spot.

I still remember shopping at Art Explosion for “Madonna” bracelets, and underage smoking at the food court. Ahh, memories.

  1. It broke my heart when they closed Judy’s. Some of my fondest memories are of CCM.

  2. CCM…memories. All the money my mom wasted at Units, Judy’s, among others just so I could be cool. And the TJ Cinnamon’s bakery? Had to have one of those every time. Good times.

  3. Remember the year that millions of crickets decided to die all over the entrances of Sanger-Harris/Foley’s? I was just a kid, so it scared me to death…and the smell was awful.

  4. I would like to comment that my company is building a new family entertinment center called Amazing Jakes. I hope this store will bring a new light to the mall. Check us out at http://www.amazingjakes.com We will deffinately recreate the memories that are needed. We have it all from Go-Karts, rock climbing, lazer tag, kiddie rides, and great gourmet buffet food. Keep hope alive and we will hake it a better place.
