You know, between his bold plans for helping DISD and now his bold plans for the Trinity River project, Mayor Tom Leppert makes more vague and pollyanna promises than Lindsey Lohan during rehab.

Leppert doesn’t seem to be clued in about the schools, perhaps too time spent in the antebellum Park Cities apartheid?
For instance he wants to put a ‘college-prep’ school downtown — I guess he doesn’t realize the top school in the country, TAG, is a stone’s throw and the highest rated AP program (by D Magazine) is a couple of miles east in Lakewood at Woodrow Wilson High. Besides the only school besides Booker T. (3 presidential scholars) downtown was Crozier Tech, which was sold a decade ago.
So the schools are there – perhaps he should promote and support what is already extant.

I think all statements made by Leppert from this point forward should be accompanied by a “safe harbor” clause, much like those required by the SEC of publicly-traded companies. In other words, bull**** protection.
FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine preemptively out themselves for sleeping with co-workers before anyone can blackmail them with a movie script detailing their indiscretions.
