It opened on Friday. For some reason, it’s not showing up in the box office results. Wonder why? Let’s ask Mark Cuban. This post will show up on his RSS feed. Mark? The floor is yours.
How about a shout out to the the local film makers that worked their ass off to get
“Fat Girls” is distribution.
Why is D Magazine so conerned about the film Redacted?
Is it because it is not a “pretty” picture?

To be fair, “Redacted” was not released in the usual manner as other Hollywood movies, thus the typical way the WBO results are calculated are likely less than what money was made. Mr. Cuban should be commended for taking on the Hollywood Studio/Entertainment heads who are notoriusly behind the times on technology (think Napster). Nevertheless, it still seems like a bad idea to promote the idea with a politically divisive film and release it at the same time as “Lions for Lambs.”
And I still disagree about “the message” Jack.
The Entertainment Industry is only about money. (Isn’t there a strike on about some reason right now?) The only time Entertainment and politics really seem to work togetther are in independent Coffee shops.

Eric, the thing I like about you is that you actually read these things.

Now if we can only get Wick to read some of the data on the Trinity Toll Road.
Why…Why….is this particular film and the box office surrounding it SO important to Wick and D Magazine?
This city is full of very talented film makers who are creating some awesome projects that could use a little highlighting or mentions in the local press.
I thought Redacted was thought provoking and informative. People who voted for Bush twice should be forced to see it.
When Wick mentions that he likes Eric because he actually reads these things…makes me wonder if Wick has actually seen this movie.

I think a certain publisher is upset that a certain billionaire wants no part of his glossy empire.
Wick, have I mentioned today how rich and disconnected you are?
Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go check on my Exxon shares while polishing my Best of Proctology award and caressing the bleached hair of my mistress. Ahhhh, being a Parkie, ain’t it great Wick?

I thought the Mr. Allison just purchased a bridge using other people’s money and threw a lavish gathering featuring Jerry Jeff Walker or was it Jimmy “JJ” Walker?

I used to think that this new “comment” function for FrontBurner was a good thing: but at that time I could not appreciate that such capability would only afford a ready Race To The Bottom in terms of snarky self-indulgence.
Better still, ask Bill O’Reilly.
Wick..you might be competing with Bill O’Reilly for your Cuban attention.
This is a big world and D is a small letter in a globla alphabet.
What is the point that you are trying to make?
We know you are salivating for the film to tank….but what is the reason?
Will it make you feel better. Do you have a documentary coming out on the Best Proctologist of Dallas that might compete with this film?
Why the HATE Wick…why the hate?

Um, and it’s on there. No. 49. Opened in 15 theaters. Made $1700-plus per theater, a couple hundred more than Michael Clayton made per theater.
No Country For Old Men did really well.
