Uber-rich guy Warren Buffet has been on a tear lately because he pays less in taxes, as a percentage of his income, than his secretary. Apparently, Buffet is smart enough to figure this out, but not smart enough to figure out that if he’s that all-fired hot to give more money to Uncle Sam, there’s a box on his tax form he can check to do just that. (Or, if he wants his secretary to have more left after taxes, he could always pay her more.) Anyhow, Mark Cuban was asked about this by Forbes.
“I agree with him. I put a lot of money in tax-free instruments. So, yes, I do pay less as a percentage of income than those that work for me, and I have no problem admitting it. Conceptually I have zero problem with paying more taxes. Unfortunately, far too much money is wasted by our politicians.”
