Election Results: Trinity Project Gains Support

In the 1998 bond vote, the Trinity proposition passed by a margin of only 3.2% (38,016 to 35,659), with 73,675 people voting. Yesterday, the tollway cancellation failed by a margin of 5.8% (37,639 to 42,279), with 79,918 people voting. So the propaganda blitz by Jim Schutze and the Dallas Observer was partly successful: they got 6,243 more people to turn out to vote. The glitch was that two-thirds of those new votes went against them. Good work.
