MetroPCS Tells Leap Wireless: Fine. Merger Off.

Memory-having FrontBurnervians will remember some discussion here about how Dallas-based MetroPCS offered to buy Leap Wireless for about $5 billion. Leap said no way and the CEO called the offer “financially inadequate.” So now MetroPCS has withdrawn its bid entirely, saying, “We are disappointed, unimpressed and studying our options.” Which is exactly what 96 percent of the girls I asked out in high school and college said.
