Re: Robert Draper

Tim and I caught Draper on KERA yesterday on the way to the Trinity briefing. Two notes:

1. I swear he used the word “gordations” at one point. I even wrote it down. There was some thought that he might have said “gradations” instead, but it didn’t fit the sentence. I guess when you’re Robert Draper, you can make with the neologisms. For lack of a better (or any) definition, and based on two years of high-school Spanish, I believe “gordations” means “fat moments.” Pass it around.

2. The interviewer may have goaded him into it, but Draper did refer to Dead Certain as “an important historical document.” I haven’t read it, so maybe it is. But at least hem and haw a bit, sir. That said, his quote better be a back-cover blurb when the paperback is issued.

“An important historical document.” — Robert Draper
