1. I know there are people who will say that Angela Hunt got what she deserved when Mayor Leppert declined to name her to a leadership position on any City Council committee. I say it’s the sort of petty, small-minded, insecure, indefensible, childish action that augurs ill for his mayoral stint. Here’s a tip for the former CEO, one that most business leaders can’t seem to get through their heads: someone smart disagrees with you completely, you make them a part of the team. It’s only through such diversity of opinion that you’re able to come closer to solving problems and creating a vision that holds up to scrutiny. Put aside your personal feelings about someone whose passion and intelligence can help the city, even if you feel those traits have led her to a wildly misguided opinion, such as with the Trinity River project. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do for Dallas. It’s called leadership. Give it a try.
