You may have spoken to my wife yesterday or today. I’m sure you remember. Commanding phone presence? Penchant for, shall we say, “colorful” language when provoked? Yeah. That’s her. Let me stress that she knows you are not specifically at fault. She probably knows, somewhere deep down, that your company isn’t to blame either. So she’s sorry she asked for your name and direct phone line, and then promised to hold you personally responsible should something else go awry. Furthermore, she’s sorry she told you to do something untoward to yourself after that. Also, she’s sorry she called your supervisor. Both times. We’re doing a bit of work to the house, and the stress of dealing with contractors and estimates and delays and broken promises is getting to her, not to mention the fact that she’s married to me. She’s really, under normal circumstances, quite a lovely person. Loves kids and animals, generous to a fault, fun to talk to at parties. That kind of thing. To those of you who may be getting a call from her this afternoon, just know in advance that she’s sorry. Really.
