Fans of literary non-fiction need no reminder that the University of North Texas’ Mayborn Institute writers’ conference to celebrate same is just around the corner. To be exact, the event takes place July 27-29 in Grapevine. This year’s lineup includes Joyce Carol Oates, Mary Roach, Bill Nack, Allison Adelle Hedge Coke, Burkhard Bilger and others. To quote one of the conference organizers (and there’s really no need to quote, except I’m too lazy to rephrase it myself): “Conference registration continues through July 20, but deadline for contest entries (manuscripts, articles and essays) is June 15.” That’s 10 days from now, if your English major mind doesn’t do much math.
In short, the Mayborn puts on a fine conference. Check it out.
