“NORTH TEXAS” GETS SUPERBOWL?

Just wondering why the DMN words the winner of the SuperBowl contest as “North Texas” in its headline and in the story.  As in: “NFL owners, in a secret ballot, chose North Texas over bids from Arizona and Indianapolis.”

Is “Arlington” not a word for a family newspaper? The mayor might choke on it. But the daily?
