WHERE I WASN’T THIS WEEKEND
As a belated birthday present for my mom, I purchased tickets for us to attend a 2 p.m. viewing of Body Worlds on Saturday. All was well until we made it to Fair Park and hit hellacious traffic from this and this. Woefully late for our appointment, we decided it was a lost cause and retreated to the patio at Matt’s to regroup over margaritas. On our way, we ran into even more traffic, courtesy of the Lone Star Classic volleyball tournament at the convention center. Feeling only marginally better about losing 50 bucks (each ticket was $21.50 plus service charges) after a couple of rounds, I was delighted when my mom was able to cajole the Museum of Nature & Science into allowing us to reschedule our date. Day saved.
