Due primarily to the addition of former D editor Brian Sweany, a regional magazine named Texas Monthly received a National Magazine Award nomination for general excellence in its circulation category, competing against titles like The Atlantic Monthly and New York Magazine. I’m sure that stories like this one, my favorite from 2006, are the reason.
