OINK

First cats, now pigs. This time it’s the Dallas Children’s Theater’s If You Give a Pig a Party. Here’s Jenny Block’s report:

I am in love with Pig. The Dallas Children’s Theater’s stage adaptation is adorable. And not in that painfully sappy, Barney sort of way. It is clever and funny and perfectly sweet. B. Wolf, who also wrote the music for the show, plays live piano throughout and even interacts with the characters once in a while, which makes for a richness that children’s entertainment often lacks. She incorporates classic tunes, making for humor that only the adults will likely get, but from which the kids will derive pleasure nonetheless. The actors look like they are having such a good time, it’s hard not to have a good time out there in the seats, too. The giggling was infectious at the performance I attended, and I was delighted to hear that the show has been extended through October 29.
