CHEFS KATIE AND GEORGE BROWN TO CLOSE GEORGE RESTAURANT TO FOCUS ON GEORGE CATERING AND THEIR FAMILY
DALLAS — June 6, 2006 — After a successful two-year run, Chefs Katie and George Brown announce the closing of GEORGE Restaurant in order to concentrate their efforts on GEORGE Catering and spend more time with their family. The busy couple opened GEORGE Restaurant — a sibling venture of GEORGE Catering — on August 10, 2004. Shortly thereafter, triplets William, Clementine and Oliver Brown arrived.
“My passion is wholesome food and wine,” said George. “And, while I am sad to be closing the restaurant, I am looking forward to the opportunity to focus my attention on our catering business as well as spend more time with my favorite people, my family!”
In business since 1999, GEORGE Catering is widely recognized as one of the most exceptional catering companies in the area and is dedicated to providing memorable food and attentive service. With an infinite selection of specialty recipes and an emphasis on quality, GEORGE Catering is a full-service catering company that has established relationships with the community, vendors and venues and handles staffing from a selected pool of the best wait staff and chefs in Dallas, setting them apart from the rest.
“It is an honor to be invited into people’s homes and asked to provide food for the momentous occasions in their lives,” adds George. “I am excited about being more involved in the menu creation and execution of events — large or small.”
Chef George W. Brown, Jr. and his wife Chef Katie Brown share a passion for wholesome food and wine. With more than 25 years experience in the food industry, Katie and George have been involved with some of the highest quality dining establishments in Dallas, and in 1997, George was selected by Food & Wine Magazine as one of the year’s Top Ten Best New Chefs in the Country.
